049. | Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

I'm excited to share the newest palette in my collection that I have not been able to stop using! The Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette is a collection of sixteen warm-toned, neutral eyeshadows. It is the sequel to the Original Chocolate Bar Palette, which contains eyeshadows that are lighter and more truly neutral in tone. The Semi-Sweet Palette is the perfect eyeshadow collection for summer. I am completely in love with this product and can't wait to share these photos and swatches.

The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette contains sixteen eyeshadows in matte, satin, and shimmer formulas. Overall, the shadows have very good pigmentation and are easy to blend. When used over an eyelid primer, the shadows stay on until I remove them with a cleanser.

As a collection, the shadows are deep and warm in tone. As I mentioned before, I think these make for the perfect summer shades because they look best with a tan. I like that the Semi-Sweet Palette includes a matte black and a matte cream shade, as well as several options for matte crease/transition shadows. It is easy to create multiple looks using just this palette.

I'm not going to go in depth talking about each shadow, because I think that will become redundant. My favorite shades are: Licorice (matte black), Coconut Creme (matte cream), Peanut Butter (matte warm tan), Rum Raisin (shimmery taupe), Mousse (matte neutral brown), Caramel (shimmery warm gold), Bon Bon (shimmering peach - so unique!), and Butter Pecan (satin cream with peach undertones). The only shade I dislike is Pink Sugar, a dirty pink with lots of chunky silver glitter.

And now, on to the swatches! (*Note: These aren't my best swatches because I was having terrible luck with lighting, but you can still get the general idea of the colors.)

Top Row (left to right): Licorice, Coconut Creme, Nougat, Truffled, Hot Fudge.

Middle Row (left to right): Cocoa Chili, Pink Sugar (ugh), Puddin', Blueberry Swirl, Peanut Butter, Frosting.

Bottom Row: Rum Raisin, Mousse, Caramel, Bon Bon (swoon), Butter Pecan.

The Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette is packaged in a metal casing shaped to look like - wait for it! - a chocolate bar. The color of the packaging is a milk chocolate brown, compared to the dark chocolate brown of the Original Chocolate Bar Palette. Although the palette is quite long (it does contain sixteen shadows, after all), it is very slim and fits into drawers and makeup cases nicely. It has a magnetic closure. I would have preferred the mirror opposite the shadows to have filled up the entire length and width of the case, as it would be much easier to use. Aside from that, I have no complaints.

Overall, I highly recommend the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. It is a great option for someone looking for a warm toned, neutral palette. The Semi-Sweet Palette retails for $49. Click here to purchase.

  1. Ooh I am so jealous haha! I'd love to get my hands on this, but I just can't justify spending the money on it when I am actually pretty useless at applying eyeshadow! I just purchased a Makeup Revolution eyeshadow palette (featured in my July Favourites post if you fancy a read!) which does the job for me, and it was only £4!!! Lovely post doll :)xx
