To celebrate the beginning of October, what is (in my mind) the unofficial start of Autumn, I'm sharing a haul from a recent shopping trip where I picked up several fall-inspired lipsticks. A few weeks ago, Ulta was having a sale on the Too Faced La Creme Color Drenched Lip Creams. So naturally - and unnecessarily - I bought five. Keep reading for photos and swatches!
The Too Faced La Creme Lip Creams have my favorite lipstick formulation, next to MAC. The consistency of the La Creme Lip Creams is a lipstick-lip gloss hybrid. They have the opacity of a lipstick and the hydration and slip of a lip gloss. The texture and finish is very similar to the MAC Sheen Supreme lipsticks.
The pigmentation is medium coverage and buildable. The lipsticks apply evenly and blend easily on the lips. The La Creme formula wears off after about four hours, and will not last through eating and drinking. However, because the consistency of the lipstick is so easy to work with, reapplying throughout the day isn't a problem. The formula is very comfortable on the lips.
I picked up five shades of the La Creme Lip Creams, ranging from very light to very dark. They all have either a brown undertone or a berry undertone, both of which are very fall-inspired to me.
From lightest to darkest, I purchased: Naughty Nude, a chestnut nude; Teddy Berry, a berry rose with brown undertones; Pink Chocolate, a mauve brown; Sweet Maple, a plum brown; and Divine Wine, a bordeaux with brown undertones.

It is said when you're buying a high-end makeup product, be sure you like the packaging, because that's half of the reason for the higher price tag. The La Creme Lip Creams are cased in beautiful gold metal packaging. The tubes are sleek, chic, and easy to tote around during the day. This is by far my favorite lipstick packaging on the market.
