041.| theBalm Cindy-Lou Manizer

With warm weather comes tanned skin, and when I have a tan I always desire a bronzed, glowy makeup look. I was going through my makeup stash recently when I realized that I only have a few highlighters, compared to the dozens of blushes, lipsticks, and eyeshadows, among other things. I quickly began browsing for my perfect summer highlight and I settled on theBalm's Cindy-Lou Manizer Highlighter, a peachy-pink shimmer. Keep reading for photos and swatches!

Cindy-Lou Manizer is a peachy-pink highlighter with subtle rose gold shimmer. This highlighter is unique because it is actually pink, not a white or beige highlight with pink undertones. The pink base adds a warmth to Cindy-Lou that isn't found in many highlighters. It looks best paired with pink, peach, and rose toned blush.

On my complexion, Cindy-Lou looks like a more natural highlight because I have pink undertones in my skin. On darker complexions, it comes across as a more dramatic highlight; and on fair skin tones, it can be used as a luminizing blush.

Cindy-Lou is very pigmented, and blends together with blush and bronzer easily. A small amount of product goes a very long way. The consistency of the powder is silky and buttery. theBalm has one of the best powder formulations on the market today. I like applying this highlighter with a small detailer brush to the tops of my cheekbones. Cindy-Lou can also be used as eyeshadow, but I prefer to use it as a face highlight.

As with all packaging from theBalm, Cindy-Lou's compact is cute, retro, and full of puns. The packaging is plastic, but sturdy. and features a large pan of product (.3 oz.) and a large mirror. The compact is extremely slim and very portable. Cindy-Lou Manizer retails for $24 and can be purchased here.

I love this product and would definitely recommend. Cindy-Lou is best for someone who is looking for a unique highlight to add to their makeup bag. If you're looking for a more basic and versatile highlight, I recommend theBalm's other highligher, Mary-Lou Manizer, which I talk about below.

Placed next to Mary-Lou Manizer, it is easy to see how the pink base of Cindy-Lou differs from traditional highlights. Plus, Cindy-Lou is not nearly as iridescent as Mary-Lou. While I do like both of these highlights equally, I recommend Mary-Lou to someone looking for a classic beige shimmer highlight.
