This probably hasn't been apparent on my blog so far, but lip products are my absolute favorite beauty items. I'm afraid I have close to one hundred lip products, and counting. Despite the absurdity of that, I stopped by my local MAC store a few weeks ago to pick up a replacement of my favorite lipstick, Viva Glam V. I've been through three of them so far, and I still can't get enough. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the lipstick, but I was talked into purchasing two other items while I was there.
After the saleswoman informed me that my beloved Viva Glam V was not coming home with me that day, I started searching around for similar shades. Embarrassingly enough, all of the regular MAC lipsticks that were similar to Viva Glam V, I already had in my makeup stash. I found that one of the Sheen Supreme lipsticks was slightly similar and scooped it up.
The saleswoman explained that the Sheen Supremes were meant to give the effect of wearing both a lipstick and a lip gloss. They are glossy, and have no shimmer whatsoever. The shade I chose is Impressive, a soft rose brown. The formula is extremely moisturizing and wears beautifully. The scent is different from the typical vanilla scent the original MAC lipsticks have. They smell like a lemony baked good (a kind of taste like one too!).
Finally, I picked up a lip liner in the color Spice. The saleswoman convinced me it was the perfect color to go with Impressive, Viva Glam V, and other similar shades. It is a little deeper than I was expecting, but I don't regret purchasing it.
The Sheen Supreme lipsticks retail for $18, and the Lip Pencils for $16. Click here to purchase Impressive. Click here to purchase Spice.
