046. | BECCA x Jaclyn Hill Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed

I'm excited to share my take on one of the beauty community's most buzzed about summer launches - the BECCA Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop. BECCA collaborated with YouTube superstar Jaclyn Hill to create this limited edition highlighter. Champagne Pop is flying off of the shelves at record rates, so I suggest picking this up as soon as possible if you're interested! At the time this post is going live, Champagne Pop is available on Sephora.com and launches in Sephora stores July 16th. Keep reading for photos and swatches!

Champagne Pop is described as being "soft white gold with pinky peach undertones." To me, this is more of a soft true gold with strong peach undertones. It has gold and silver shimmer particles that give a gorgeous, yet dramatic, sheen that is amplified when it catches light. The color of this highlight is very, very unique, and would suit a wide range of skin tones.

The texture of Champagne Pop is very creamy and buttery. The powder is extremely finely milled and easily blends in with other face products. Make sure to use a very light hand with this product, as it is highly pigmented. A little bit goes a long way!

Champagne Pop is packaged in a rubberized blackened brown compact with silver hardware. This is the packaging BECCA uses for all of their highlighters and blushes, as well as some other face products. I've honestly never been a fan - I think it's a little bland. However, that's not a big downside, unless you're very particular about product presentation.

Finally, Champagne Pop comes in a beautiful little rose gold box with raised droplets - or champagne bubbles! The back of the box features a gorgeous picture of Jaclyn and a description she wrote of the product. I don't understand why they used a black and white photo. Wouldn't a color photo show the highlight better?

Overall, I highly recommend this highlight if you are a fan of a dramatic glow. The color is extremely unique and the texture of the product is excellent quality. I think this is definitely a "summer highlighter" and works best with a bit of a tan (or at least some heavy bronzing). If you're looking for something more versatile, I would recommend checking out some more basic products. Champagne Pop contains .28 oz. of product and retails for $38. Click here to purchase!

  10. I bought it, and I think I'm actually going to return it. I'm very pale, and while I can wear it, I find it a bit too dark on my cheeks. I generally prefer silvery highlight colours, but thought I would give this one a go anyway. I really don't think it suits my skin tone, and for the price, I can think of a few things I would rather have.
